US Army Veterans Bring Awareness to our Armed Forces, Law Enforcement and First Responder Veterans

A group of US Armed Forces Veterans will journey 4,000 miles by bicycle coast-to-coast from Newport News, Virginia to Astoria, Oregon. The purpose of the journey is to bring awareness to the great service given to our nation by past Veterans, the Veterans serving today, and those that will join our Armed Forces to dedicate part of their lives to our United States and our great citizens.

The journey is expected to last just over 30-days stopping nights to camp under the stars, or in the case of most of us who have served, under rain storms and clouds. We will announce the dates of the journey and how you can participate as a rider, sponsor or supporter, or a donor to Veteran organizations.

The Veterans who will make the coast-to-coast journey include:

  • John Wilt, Colonel, US Army Special Forces, Retired
  • Richard Orth, Colonel, US Army Armor and Foreign Area Officer, Retired
  • Howard H. Howard, Sergeant First Class, US Army Special Forces, Retired
  • Gregory Coombs, Master Sergeant, US Army Special Forces, Retired
  • Jerry Torres, Master Sergeant, US Army Special Forces, Retired
