US Army Special Forces Combat Veteran Deployed Globally to Conflicts and Anti-Terrorism Missions

Mr. Torres is a service-disabled US Army Special Forces (Green Beret – 18B and 18Z) combat veteran who served in missions and conflicts around the globe retiring at rank of Master Sergeant (MSG).  During his 25 years of service to the nation, MSG Torres led and participated in missions in Asia, Africa, South America, the Caribbean, Europe, the Middle East and the United States. He served as a Special Forces Team Sergeant, Operations and Intelligence Sergeant and Weapons Sergeant during combat operations under Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) and Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF); within the Joint Special Operations Task Force (JSOTF) in the Horn of Africa (HOA); on Special Forces A Teams within Joint Task Force – 6 (JTF-6) on the border between the United States and Mexico; in support of Foreign Internal Defense (FID) and Counterterrorism/Counter-Drug (CT/CD) operations and Peace Keeping training missions in South America and the Caribbean; as Operations NCO for the US Military Group (USMILGP) and Acting INL Officer at the US Embassy in Argentina; as Forward Observer (FO – 13F) within the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) between North and South Korea; as an Artilleryman (13B) in Fort Lewis, Washington, Fort Greely, Fort Wainwright, Nenana and Galena in Alaska, 29 Palms in California and at the Coronado Naval Station in San Diego, California. MSG Torres was also an instructor at the Green Beret’s John F. Kennedy (JFK) Special Warfare Center in Fort Bragg, North Carolina; the Chemical, Biological and Radiological (CBR) NCO for Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) at Fort Lewis, Washington and Camp Stanley, South Korea.
 
Mr. Torres earned numerous awards and recognitions while serving in the US Army; some include: the Bronze Star Medal (VAARNG), the Combat Infantryman’s Badge, the Special Forces Tab, the Joint Service Commendation Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Joint Service Achievement Medal and the Army Achievement Medal, among others. In 1998, he was chosen as the Virginia Army National Guard “NCO of the Year” and achieved numerous performance awards such as “Soldier of the Month and Quarter” while serving in the US Army throughout his career.
